Selection Cotton CSR: Beauty Begins with Nature

On Friday, June 26, 2026, Selection Cotton officially held a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program called “Beauty Begins with Nature.” Through this program, Selection Cotton planted 1,000 mangrove trees at Mangunharjo Beach, Semarang City.
This green initiative was made possible through close collaboration with LindungiHutan and the active participation of local farmers who play an important role in protecting the coastal environment.
Why Mangroves?
Mangunharjo Beach was chosen because its coastal area needs special attention to restore its ecosystem. As we know, mangrove forests have a very important role for the future of our planet, including:
- Prevent Coastal Erosion: They act as a natural barrier that protects the land from strong sea waves.
- The Lungs of the Coast: They absorb carbon dioxide and help create cleaner air.
- Protect Marine Life: They maintain water quality and provide a safe habitat for many kinds of plants and marine animals.
Working Together and Learning Together
Planting mangroves is not just about putting seedlings into the mud. Before the planting started, the LindungiHutan team gave an educational session about the importance of coastal ecosystems and the proper way to plant mangroves so they can grow well.
After that, the planting was carried out together with experienced local farmers. Their involvement helps make sure that the mangrove trees will continue to be cared for and monitored as they grow.
